The TapeTime Story
As a high school sprint coach, timing athletes is an every day necessity. Trying to juggle a clipboard, pencil, stopwatch, and the ongoing chaos of lane-switches, heat mix-ups, and runner performance makes for a messy (and mistake-filled) timing sheet. By the end of practice, getting all of those names, numbers, cross-outs, and corrections into a spreadsheet seems insurmountable.
TapeTime is born from the need of a better solution - to accurately time athletes and utilize that information to help make timing fun again.
Accurate Timing
Verified against leading handheld timers (and some One-Mississippis), TapeTime holds its own. Start a timing session, and if you switch to another app and come back, we’re still keeping time.
Immediately Responsive
The buttons you want are in the right place to tap - meaning you can start the timer as soon as the starter’s pistol fires. Mark a time with a tap in the same place. We’ve made it take an extra step to stop or clear the timer - no missed splits because you pressed the wrong button!
Sharing and Sending
After a timing session, easily share or save the data via Messages, to Files, email, or any other app from the standard share screen. We export as CSV, so you can bring directly into your tracking spreadsheets. And more to come - see below.
